The Longest Reign Historic Royal Palaces

Client: Historic Royal Palaces
Services: Design & Build
Value: £140,000
Completion: 2015

To celebrate Her Majesty the Queen becoming the longest reigning British Monarch, an immersive media installation was designed and installed around the eight alcoves within Kensington Palaces’ Stone Hall entrance area. The media installation drew comparisons between Queen Victoria, who had previously set the record for being the longest reigning monarch, and her granddaughter, Her Majesty the Queen. The display reflected upon the lives of both the monarchs and their lives at the palace.

Working with HRP on this fast track project, Fraser Randall were responsible for the feasibility stage of the project and also the delivery including the design and build. The infrastructure solution was designed to a high specification to ensure it could remain in situ for up to 5-10 years and house future installations within the space.
