‘Secret War’ explores the undercover world of espionage, and the work of Britain’s Special Forces. It tells the story of Britain’s top secret operations from the foundation of MI5 and MI6 in advance of the First World War, to the Cold War and the threat of terrorism today. The exhibition explores personal experiences and sheds light on the masked world of spies and the risks of undercover work.

With the assistance of high tech audio visual displays this object and content rich exhibition guides visitors through themed zones and showcases previously classified objects, many of which are on public display for the first time.

Fraser Randall were the project manager for this gallery at the Imperial War Museum and oversaw the programme and consultant management for the project.
